CHANGE YOUR HUE-POINT
Sometimes all we need is a simple change of color to change our perspective and activate our feng shui. Here’s a before picture of artist Isabelle Bryer’s studio:
Although it’s a lovely powder blue color, it was no longer inspiring creativity because the artist got too used to it. What to do? Time to change your hue-point! With a small investment in a can of paint, you can add color and feng shui energy to just one wall. Isabelle’s studio now has one deep plum wall that sets off her paintings and ignites her imagination.
With the citrus color on the wall beyond, and white on the other studio walls, the plum is a nice focal point to anchor the room. If you’re feeling sluggish and not sure what to do about it, why not try adding some color to your home? One accent wall is all you need to paint to lift your spirits.

GOT FENG SHUI? 5 Tips For the Office
In big cities around the world, some of the most powerful people have harnessed the power of feng shui. From Hong Kong to Sydney to London, NYC and LA if you know what to look for you’ll recognize feng shui symbols of power in many a corporate tower.( Here’s one office that could REALLY benefit, LOL!) Feng shui is a very complex art but you can start employing basic feng shui practices at work now and see what happens. Warning: you could end up loving your job, or, finding one that you do!
1) LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION
Locate the optimum Power Position for your desk. The best place is the “Wealth” trigram. Find this area by standing in the doorway to your office, facing inside. The upper left hand section with your desk facing your door so your back is not turned is the optimum power position. Best to have a solid wall behind you instead of a window, too.
2) MAINTAIN YOUR ENVIRONMENT
Keep your environment clutter free. That means clearing out anything unnecessary/broken and keeping all your files and tools of your trade organized. In other words, this is a good time to demonstrate that you’re a neat freak.
3) COLOR THEORY
In feng shui terms, you can’t beat red and purple for activating your Wealth area. How to use them at work:
*Wear a touch of power red (necktie, scarf, blouse, or underwear).
*Choose the red chair to sit at in meetings if there is one.
*Organize your files using purple folders.
*Keep your tools in a red or purple container.
4) RESPECT YOURSELF
using appropriate wall art that symbolizes success or inspiration, you lift the energy level in your work environment. If you’ve got a degree of higher learning, frame it in a manner befitting the expense you paid for the college tuition instead of a cheap 5 & 10 frame. Awards, honors, certificates of distinction? Display them proudly to build confidence in yourself and from your employers or customers. The Fame & Reputation area is the optimum location to do so.
5) CH’I-FUL ATTITUDE
Keep your ch’i (energy) clean. You need to “wash away” the emotional residue of a bad day at work. You can do this by literally washing your hands or taking a shower while at the same time visualizing that you are releasing the toxic situations you experienced down the drain. Take a few moments to breathe deeply and release all the stress before you interact with loved ones.
Consciously making an effort to improve your work space, you’re taking the most important feng shui step of all: setting your intentions for excellence.

THE POWER OF WORDS AND INTENTIONS: Your Treasure Map Can Be All Words If You Want
Here’s a picture of my Personal Feng Shui Treasure Map for 2010. I’m a painter and a writer as well as a feng shui consultant so for me it seemed natural to simply paint the words of my intentions in the correct colors to correspond to the bagua map. I didn’t need magazine visuals. I didn’t need a lot of time (I completed the project within one hour although I have been thinking about my intentions for days now).
The words resonate powerfully for me and I like the way my manifestation board looks. I have it hanging in the Love & Relationship area of my home which corresponds to the Wisdom & Knowledge area of my studio. So, if you’re strapped for time today but you still want to take advantage of Tracy Cook’s astrological timing for creating your Personal Feng Shui Treasure Map, take inspiration from me—you don’t even need to paint them like I did. You can simply take the time to write them down on a large piece of paper using magic markers to activate the colors that correspond to the bagua.
Wealth= Red, Purple, Green or Gold metallic
Fame= Red/Orange
Love & Relationship= Red, Pink, White
Family & Health= Blues/Greens
Tai Chi Center= Golden yellows
Creativity & Children= grey and black and all the colors
Wisdom & Knowledge= greens blues
Career= black
Travel & helpful people= deep blues/greys/black
I sincerely hope that sharing my own Personal Feng Shui Treasure Map has helped you to realize that you CAN create your own map and there is no such thing as “perfect” or “should be done this way”. Use your own available time, energy, and ideas to create a vision of health, prosperity, and love for your life! Send me your pics of your maps if you’d like to share with our readers. Good luck!

TALKING ABOUT LOVE & FENG SHUI
I’m posting this from beautiful Charleston, SC. We’re here to celebrate the wedding of a friend’s daughter. What a romantic city! You couldn’t get much better weather, too. All this love stuff got me thinking about some of the previous feng shui advice I’ve given for Love & Relationship. It seemed like a perfect time to revisit these links…
If you’ve been in love before and you can’t seem to find a new partner, you may want to find out if your ex is blocking you from finding a new love. This happens when we hold on too long to “love clutter”. If you’ve been burned a few times you might benefit from these steps on overcoming the fear factor so you can jump back into the dating game. But first, be gentle with yourself. Getting over a past love can take time. Be sure to try the Feng Shui By Fishgirl recipe for healing a broken heart and remember, even celebrities like Sandra Bullock can benefit from solid feng shui advice.
You might already be thinking about merging your households and wondering what the feng shui impact of moving in together will be. Pay special attention to the details of your bedroom where most of the pillow talk will take place in your love relationship. When choosing heart art for your Love area, remember that all hearts are not created equal but my Love Power Hearts are specifically designed to help boost your love power and I still have some available. They make wonderful wedding gifts, by the way!

POLLEN: A Sure Sign of Spring!
Was in Washington, DC over the weekend to see the cherry blossoms. They were spectacular and so was the weather. We saw a lot of fine art while we were there, the highlights being 3 world-class exhibitions that I wrote about here.
Can you guess what the square yellow mass on the museum floor is in the picture above? It’s a pile of hazelnut pollen. I kid you not! The artist Wolfgang Laib created this piece and I took a photo of the label just to prove it.
Why anyone would want to collect pollen in mass quantities and call it fine art is beyond me. But I do like the color yellow…and when I came home after two days away I found my car completely covered in pollen from our trees. Is my 10 year old Honda Odyssey more valuable now? When the museums come calling, I’ll let you know! I do know that cleaning the feng shui of your car is helped by keeping it well maintained.
Meanwhile, here’s an old home remedy for pollen allergies: try to eat local honey daily. The bees transform pollen from your neighborhood flora and fauna’s pollen and if you eat it, this should alleviate some of the allergy symptoms. Do you have any remedies you can share with us? Please post!
There were many bees swarming around the cherry blossoms but I didn’t see any honey vendors in sight. I did however catch a pretty good glimpse of our President Obama driving by in his motorcade. My heart did flutter extra wildly and I can report he was wearing a crisp white shirt without a jacket.

COVENANT WINES CELEBRATE JEWISH TRADITIONS
You don’t have to be Jewish to appreciate the delicious fine kosher wines created by Covenant Wines in Napa Valley. But if you are, you’ll want to be sure to pick up a bottle or two of Covenant cabernet sauvignon for your Passover seder this weekend. Vintners Jeff Morgan and Leslie Rudd have managed to capture not only this niche market but the high praise of Jordan Mackay in a recent article for the New York Times. The article is a fascinating interview with Mr. Morgan about how his winemaking led to his own spiritual reawakening.
If you’re traveling to Napa Valley, be sure to add Covenant Wines to your list of wine tasting stops. Find out more on their website. Wines created with this much love are definitely made under the positive influence of good feng shui!
