This renovated barn interior has some highly creative use of plywood going on. The most obvious is the cube in the center that holds a bathroom and utility room on the lower floor and the stairs go up to an office space (I’d put a loft bed up there). Plywood is an inexpensive material and sometimes can be quite beautiful in its simplicity. The benches and table in this picture from Dwell also are made of plywood. We used a thin plywood to line the interior of a vintage Airstream that we had gutted to turn into an art gallery annex in Maine. I’ve also seen it used as a flooring material where price is an issue. I personally love the scent of plywood that’s recently been cut. Can someone bottle that?

plywood interior of our gutted vintage Airstream

I just found these pics and added them to the post. My bf wanted to make another gallery space —inside a vintage Airstream— and plywood was what he chose to line it with. We are still hoping to complete the domed ceiling with plywood. . .

I’ll be blogging more about them as we renovate and update the interiors with feng shui in mind. FYI: The … Read More

Feng Shui By Fishgirl loves discovering new places (especially while traveling). If you happen to be driving down the east coast and you find yourself just north of Charleston on Rte 17, be sure to stop at Cosmic Jack’s for the best hot dog you’ll ever eat! The venue caught our attention because of the shiny polished vintage Airstream they had parked out front. Turns out the inside of the Airstream has been completely gutted to make room for a catering kitchen (what a groovy idea!). Inside, the decor is part 50’s, part Jetsons and the staff is super helpful and friendly. The french fries are to die for and they’re served with authentic draft root beer.
