To activate postive feng shui energy, don’t be afraid to mix color, bold patterns, and art in one room the way designer Carol Freedman of Bethesda, Maryland has done in this delightful bedroom. Color is the unifying theme that makes an eclectic play of seemingly incongruent patterns work. The medallions in the subtle bedcover echo the not-so-subtle rug medallions. The pillows by Betty Ferguson of Windows By Betty and painting by Susan Finsen add even more layers tied together by accent colors. I can’t see the full room but it seems to me that the bed has matching nightstands with the same lamps that keep the feng shui equilibrium intact.
