‘Tree Of Hope’ Stands As Poignant Symbol In Japan : The Two-Way : NPR.
This is the only tree standing of a grove of pine trees planted in Rikuzentakata, Japan some 200 years ago. The tsunami wiped the town out but this lone tree is a symbol of hope to the townspeople and we can take some inspiration from it, too. What has inspired hope in you when life seemed unbearable and you felt like tossing in the towel? Share with us in the comments please. And Japan still needs our help: here’s how you can help and you can also buy this CD.
