This is an example of a treasure map or vision board or intention board or life map---call it whatever you want!. To align it with feng shui, the creator should have followed the feng shui bagua to place his pics and words in their proper areas.
I’ve got some exciting news! Noted Los Angeles astrologer and writer Tracy Cook will be sharing her method of creating a Personal Feng Shui Treasure Map with us. A treasure map is a road map of personally selected intentions/hopes/goals that you would like to attract into your life.
You may know these treasure maps under a different name: Vision Boards, Intention Boards, Manifestation Maps, Dream/Wish Board (see some more examples of Treasure Maps and Manifestation Boards here)…what’s different–AND BETTER!!!– about Tracy’s method is that she sets up the board in accordance with feng shui bagua areas. And, Tracy also uses astrology to figure out the optimum time to create your board.
The idea is to take advantage of the first four days of the lunar cycle of the first astrology sign (Aries). This year you will begin assembling your Personal Feng Shui Treasure Map on April 14th at 8:28AM. Ideally, you should complete your “work of art” (for that is essentially what you are doing, creating a collage on a board that is both visually and energetically attractive) within the first four days of the new moon cycle April 14-18th.
If you need more time, try to finish it before April 28th to take advantage of the full potency of the astrological timing. (There will be Mercury retrograde beginning April 18th so it’s optimum to try to complete your project before then).
WHAT PREPARATION SHOULD YOU DO NOW?
1] DREAM BIG! Start thinking about what you want to manifest and attract to you. What personal treasures do you want to uncover this year? Will you focus on love? Career? Money? Spirituality? Health? Creativity? Fame? Travel? All of the above? Spend some time in deep thought to discover what is important to you so that you can find the visual representation of those visions to use on your poster board.
2] SPRING CLEANING NOW! You must align your space with feng shui. Begin by cleaning and clearing your space in the next 3 weeks. More info on why this is important here at Tracy’s website. Get rid of anything broken, unused, unloved. Make space for new opportunities to find you.
3] BEGIN COLLECTING MAGAZINES with photos that you can cut out pictures and words that will represent your dreams, visions, and goals—the “treasure” you want to map out!—so you’ll have a great supply of visuals to work with come April.
4] GATHER YOUR SUPPLIES– a poster board, glue sticks, scissors, magic markers, art supplies if you plan to draw your own visuals…See Tracy’s website post regarding Treasure Maps for more info and then check back with Feng Shui By Fishgirl for Tracy’s instructional post “Personal Feng Shui Treasure Map Part II: Making Your Map” in early April.
